Dr. Tamare P. Piersaint, Psy.D.

Dr. Tamare P. Piersaint is a professional psychologist, a licensed professional counselor, and a certified rehabilitation counselor. Dr. Piersaint is an active faculty member in the Department of Criminal Justice and Psychology at California University of Pennsylvania (CalU) and is the owner of Serenity for Youth & Family, LLC where she has provided therapy, training, and consultation to the community since 2015. 

Dr. Piersaint earned her doctorate degree from Carlow University, she completed her doctoral internship and residency at Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic of UPMC (WPIC) where she completed clinical training at the Services for Teens at Risk (STAR) center, a center for adolescents struggling with suicide, training at the ADHD Across the Lifespan clinic for children and adults, as well as the specialized Autism clinic. 

 

Dr. Piersaint has been invited to present trainings and symposiums nationally and internationally on topics such as Women’s Mental Health, Depression in Communities of Color, Mental Illness in Underserved Communities, Coping with Grief, Addressing Suicidal Thoughts & Behaviors, Social Determinants of Health & Diverse populations, Mental Illness in the Church, Motivational Interviewing & Stages of change, to name a few. She is an expert in Psychology and Religion and Immigrant Mental Health.

 

In her nearly 14 years of work in the field, Dr. Piersaint has served as the Program Director of the Child & Adolescent inpatient units at Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic, she has served as Chair of Pennsylvania Psychological Association Graduate Students board, has served as Assistant Program Director of the Inpatient Child & Adolescent Bipolar Services (In-CABS), in addition to her clinical administrative roles, Dr. Piersaint is active in her community where she was a founding member of Allegheny County Human Services’ “Welcoming Pittsburgh”, she is an active member of the Immigrant & Internationals Advisory board in Western Pennsylvania.

When she is not providing clinical services or teaching, Dr. Piersaint enjoys spending time with her husband of nearly 15 years, as well as their son and their havashire, Cuba. She is a native of Haiti - fluent in Haitian Creole and offers bilingual services. She enjoys reading, traveling, crafting, photography, listening to music, and cooking. Weekly, Dr. Piersaint hosts Virtual Storytime with Dr. P., on Facebook and YouTube, an online interactive storytime for children of all ages. The books she selects for her show focuses on self-care/wellness, empathy and promote personal growth.

Simone Dupree, MSPC

Simone Dupree, MSPC is passionate about providing the highest quality of clinical care to children, adolescents and their families. She is a compassionate and caring therapist with a vision to help families and children live their best version of themselves. She has expertise in working with children, adolescents, and parents who are experiencing anxiety and everyday life struggles. She has held previous positions helping at risk youth and families through community programs as well as therapy.

 

She is a graduate of Carlow University and is currently pursuing her licensure for professional counselor. Her experience has taught her that clients thrive best when they are heard and understood. She helps her clients develop the tools and skills needed to overcome their struggles. She uses a holistic approach as well as a client-centered therapy and art therapy to assist her clients.
